Baby Noor’s Brave Fight Against a Rare Condition

aby Noor, 2 years old: Suffers from a rare malformation called Prune Belly Syndrome

In a hospital room at C-Care Wellkin, a tiny two-year-old boy is already starting a fight that few children his age know about.

Kausmally Noor Hassen was born with a rare and complex condition: Plum Belly Syndrome, a malformation that affects the urinary tract and the abdominal wall, causing serious complications from birth.

From the first days of life, the baby’s condition worries doctors.

He is in the NICU for nearly two months. Her urinary system is not functioning properly. Kidneys are dilated . Infections are coming back. And very soon, a provisional solution is put in place to allow him to evacuate his urine.

For his mother, it all starts with fear and misunderstanding.

“Mo baba inn well suffer since birth… “, she confides.

As the months go by, Noor grows, but his condition remains fragile. An artificial opening (urethrostomy) was performed to ensure urine flow, but the malformation persists.

The child is living with an anomaly that requires advanced and specialized surgical care.

Everyday is a challenge.

Urinary tract infections, constant medical follow-up, constant concern… The family lives with the rhythm of consultations and hospitalizations.

Initially, an overseas takeover was considered.

But after a joint reassessment between the OMCA medical board and Indian specialists, an important decision was made: the treatment could finally be carried out in Mauritius, at C-Care Wellkin, avoiding a transfer abroad.

A changing decision for the family.

For doctors, this is a crucial step in taking care of his syndrome.

For his mother, it’s especially a glimmer of hope after two years of anxiety.

“My baby is going to have a big operation… Here are the words of blood in his teeth. Mo priye pou li,” she said, eyes filled with emotion.

Today Noor is 2 1/2 years old. He does not yet know the normal life of a child his age. But he’s moving forward, surrounded by care, love, and a family that refuses to give up.

OMCA Foundation is now supporting this local care, to enable the little boy to receive the necessary care in the best possible conditions.

Bébé Noor est éligible a la Zakaat.
