Emergency Transfer to Mumbai: Christina, 12, at the Center of a Complex Medical Case

12-year-old Christina Nobin was urgently transferred from Mauritius to Mumbai, where she was admitted directly to the hospital for specialized medical care.

Initially treated for a fracture of the left tibia with healing complications, further in-depth examinations revealed a more complex situation. This includes multiple associated orthopedic injuries, such as a suspected fracture of the femoral neck, a fractured patella, and misalignment of the fibula.

In addition, there is significant soft tissue loss, delayed wound healing, and persistent swelling in the affected limb.

Given the complexity of her condition, a multidisciplinary treatment approach has been implemented, combining orthopedic and reconstructive surgery. The goal is to stabilize the bone structures while ensuring proper tissue reconstruction.

Christina is currently hospitalized and being prepared for a surgical intervention tailored to her complex condition.

OMCA remains fully mobilized to ensure she receives the best possible care.

Estimated cost of treatment: MUR 651,600
