Severe Accident in Bois-des-Amourettes: 11-Year-Old Christina Can No Longer Walk
On 14 December 2025, the life of Nobin Marie Christina changed in just a few seconds.
That day, at around 4 PM, the 11-year-old girl was involved in a serious car accident in Bois-des-Amourettes. Emergency help arrived immediately, and she was rushed to Jawaharlal Nehru Hospital, Rose-Belle.
Her injuries were severe.
Her forehead was injured. Her right shoulder was dislocated. But it was her left leg that suffered the most severe impact. Her tibia was deeply damaged.
Two days later, on 16 December, doctors performed an initial surgery on her left foot. For her mother and family, this procedure represented hope—the hope that the little girl would gradually recover.
But the days that followed brought a very different reality.
During dressing changes and follow-up consultations, the family noticed that the wound around her tibia continued to bleed. Worse still, signs of infection began to appear. The injury was not healing as it should.
On 19 December, Christina was discharged and allowed to return home.
But the pain did not leave her.
The nights became long and difficult. She struggled to sleep, often overwhelmed by constant pain in her leg. Even the slightest movement became an ordeal. Whenever someone tried to help her move her foot, the pain was so intense that she burst into tears.
At times, Christina said she could no longer feel her foot. At other moments, the pain became so severe that she could not even try to move.
Slowly, a heartbreaking reality became clear to the family:
the little girl could no longer walk.
Today, at just 11 years old, Christina is completely dependent on others for even the simplest daily tasks. Even drinking a glass of water or sitting up in bed requires assistance.
For this child, life changed abruptly.
In 2025, she had just completed Grade 5 and was supposed to begin Grade 6 in 2026, just like her classmates and sisters. She dreamed of going back to school, playing, and running again.
But since the accident, her world has been limited to one room.
No more school. No more sports. No more games.
Only pain… and waiting.
Christina lives with her mother and her two sisters. Her mother is raising her children alone and works at Shervani Hotel to support the family.
Since the accident, her life has become a fragile balance between work and constant care for her injured daughter.
Every morning before leaving for work, she must wash Christina, feed her, change her dressings, and make sure she is as comfortable as possible. During her absence, a sister-in-law comes to look after the little girl.
But for this mother, the suffering is also emotional.
Watching her child cry in pain, unable to stand or sit as before, is a daily heartbreak.
“My only hope is to see my daughter walk again,” she shares.
Since the accident, medical expenses have continued to rise: medication, dressings, care, and daily assistance. Despite her efforts with Social Security since December 2025, no support has yet been received.
Today, doctors explain that Christina’s injury has developed into a non-healing wound of the left lower limb with non-union of the bone.
To save her leg and help her regain mobility, specialized intervention is urgently required. This includes surgical debridement, skin grafting, and flap cover surgery to treat the infection and promote healing.
Today, this 11-year-old girl is simply waiting for the day she can stand again… and take a few steps without pain.
OMCA Foundation is making an appeal to help this young girl access this essential medical intervention.
