Dilmahomed Salim, 60, was urgently transported to India, battling a severe vascular disease
For more than 10 years, Dilmahomed Salim Bocus lived with silent suffering that just worsened.
Today, aged 60, this family man faces an extremely critical medical situation: his both legs suffer from severe obstruction of the peripheral arteries, with more than 99% blockage, preventing normal blood flow to his lower limbs.
For his son Shezad, seeing his father go through this ordeal is a pain that is hard to describe.
“My dad has the arteries in both his legs almost completely blocked. There’s practically no more normal blood circulation. »
The family discovered the problem more than ten years ago.
Hoping to return her to normal life, vascular bypasses are performed in 2017 then in 2018, but unfortunately, each procedure only lasts about two years before her condition deteriorates again.
But as time goes on, the complications multiply.
About two years ago, new tests revealed that his heart was also beginning to weaken gradually.
Echocardiograms performed in the hospital and in the private clinic show that his heart function is deteriorating day by day. Doctors also suspect a major coronary disease, accompanied by a severely failing heart valve.
Then his condition gets worse.
Last year, Salim began to suffer from significant accumulation of fluid in his legs. Gradually, this fluid worsens to the extent of affecting his lungs, making his daily life even more difficult.
Sleeping is becoming almost impossible
For more than 8 months, he’s practically never had a peaceful night’s sleep.
Constant pain, exhaustion, and discomfort took a profound toll on this man, who was once a pillar of his family.
“My father was the backbone of our family… “And he still remains our pillar,” confides his son with emotion.
Over time Salim starts to lose weight… but especially to lose hope.
This disease has deeply weakened him physically, emotionally and mentally.
His family, who lives with him every day; his wife, daughter, son Shezad and daughter-in-law, tries to stay strong despite the pain of seeing him suffer.
“There are many nights when we don’t sleep at all because of his suffering.” Seeing him in extreme pain not being able to do much affects us immensely. »
Despite several consultations with specialists and private doctors, no sustainable solution could be found. The treatments she received often only temporarily alleviated her pain.
But recently, his condition has worsened urgently.
Facing his condition deteriorating rapidly, OMCA has urgently arranged his transfer to India last Wednesday, accompanied by a specialist flight doctor, so that he could receive specialist care.
Today Salim has to undergo an emergency evaluation followed by Femoro-Popliteal Bypass in his right and left legs, along with a CAG (Coronary Angiography) to allow doctors to assess the condition of his heart and to try to give him a chance to live without this permanent suffering.
OMCA Foundation today appeals to the public to help Salim save his life.
